Walnut Ink Recipe: 1) Collect green walnuts 2) Wet and put in a sealed plastic bag overnight (an alternative is to soak overnight in a bucket of water) 3) Split hulls with an old knife the next day 4) Fill pot with water and boil hulls about 1-2 hours Use the dye fairly quickly because it will mold. You can dye wool, muslin, burlap, cotton, etc. Ink can be used with a fountain pen to create an interesting effect. Submitted by ~ Anonymous Author |
