PAPER AND CARDSTOCK ARTS OF ALL KINDS
ART NEWSLETTER -- This
is a free general interest newsletter for all sorts of artists. Seems like
it will
cover paper art. It is sponsored by ARTtalk magazine.
- They say, "each month this eight-page newsletter provides a variety of useful information for the visual
artist and the art materials trade on
art/craft materials and techniques (from brushes, paper, paints,
pastels, pencils,
canvas, and airbrushes to painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, matting and framing,
and more), competitions, exhibitions, art history, kids'
korner, art world news, and more."
- The newsletter carries advertising blurbs and the text seems to relate to the products sold by the advertisers.
We have only looked at one issue so
we can't say much about the value of the articles. If you sign up --
please let us know
if you find the information helpful.
- They suggest you save each issue on your computer -- so it does look like they do not plan to keep an
archive file -- ... pity. Please correct us if
there is an archive.
- To subscribe to newsletter, Visit: http://www.arttalk.com/subscribe.htm
- Or, Visit their website: http://www.arttalk.com where the focus is mostly on art supplies found in retail stores

PAPER DOLLS
PAPERCRAFT AND BOOK ARTS -- This site says they are "Purveyors of
Papercraft and Book Arts since 1993" --
but I will bet this couple were making things out
of paper before they went to kindergarten. They have a good list of links
to various sites on those topics under their "inspiration" button. They
also have some unusual papercraft kits for sale, a
list of their dealers, and a schedule of their workshops from Florida to California.

PAPER MACHE RECIPES ---
Here are a bunch of paper mache recipes we found on the internet. Try them and
let us
know what works for you. We can't vouch for any of them. Do you have any
tips or techniques we can put up here?
PAPERMAKING
PARCHMENT CRAFT -- One of our widest, longest and deepest sections.
POP-UPS -- Here's some good information
and a list of tools you need to get started.
PULP & PAPER CASTING --- Try it --- it is fun for all ages. A real hands-on craft with lots of
potential for some nice work.
You can make holiday ornaments, mobile elements,
multiple castings of puppet and doll heads and hands. Or how about
boxes cast
into wooden molds, or paper bowls cast into glass bowls ?
SCORING TECHNIQUES --- Use these
techniques to score any card stock, thin plastic, etc.
See the following -- these will ultimately be melded into the above categories
We intend to cover all of the following 50 + paper arts in the
future --
